Our Thoughts
Below You Can Look At Our Visit
Ocean City, MD
Patti and I have made the annual pilgrimage to Ocean City for a week of beach, sun and great food since the first year of our marriage (On Aug. 24 we celebrated 50 years! Sorry guys, but I’ve had the world’s best partner to share my travels and for the last 8 years or so pickleball!).
Along the way we added children – Kelly and Steve, an awesome son-in-law – Nick, and those three charmers, our grandsons – James, Sam, and William. The full gang has only made visits to this great place even more fun!
We’ve been so lucky to have a place to stay each year courtesy of Patti’s generous and gracious sister, Lois.
I will tell you Ocean City isn’t everyone’s idea of an ideal beach location. A long barrier strip of beach that separates the Atlantic from a saltwater bay behind, features cold water, rough surf, crowds, and traffic are pretty much the norm. Getting there across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge can also be a test of your patience. But the great food options, wide beaches, and overload of activities and pickleball can make it a great option. I’ll also tell you that it may be one of the most family-friendly beaches we’ve ever visited.
So give it a tumble!

Where to Stay:
When it comes to places to stay, you’ve got so many choices. Luxury high-rise condos, mid-size hotels, the major hotel chains closer to the boardwalk, old-school rentals, and if you head just up the road to Fenwick, Bethany, and Rehobeth you can rent beach homes and condos. Do your homework and I know you’ll find a place you’ll want to visit again.
We are so fortunate to stay in one of Patti’s sister Lois’ condos at – SeaWatch. It’s a great place to stay. You can find dozens of rental units on all of the major online rental companies. 2 pools, Children’s playground, sand volleyball court, Tennis and Pickleball, Cinema, Arcade, – a sandwich shop that serves great ice cream, covered parking, and lots of high-speed elevators.
